I got to visit a good friend in LA over Memorial Day weekend, and I was able to experience so many new things! I biked from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach, tried Boba tea, watched an old movie in a cemetery, found stars on the Walk of Fame, toured Universal Studios, tasted some Yogurtland, ate a churro, drove on Rodeo, saw the tallest palm trees ever and the Hollywood sign! The perfect mini-cation.

It's been awhile, a month and ten days to be exact. I've been busy daydreaming. Daydreaming about who I've become and who I want to be. To be honest I've felt rather boring, working a lot and finding little to be inspired. But I've learned how to sew and I've overcome a fear of skiing. Small accomplishments I suppose, but for me it's a great way to start the new year. With January coming to a quick end, I saw the first of February as inspiration to get back into the swing of blogging. I realize I don't need inspiration to blog. Blogging inspires me. It inspires me to write and do projects and try new things and take more pictures. So here's to a year of all of the above. xo

Apparently I am incapable of blogging and preparing for the holidays. So much for being a multitasker. Maybe my new "early-Christmas-present" iPhone 4 will help me become a little better at juggling in the New Year. I've been playing with my new Hipstamatic app (yes, I know I'm about a year behind in the world of technology, but I'm still excited about it) and it has FINALLY inspired me to share my Christmas-filled apartment.

The rest of my week is filled with some last minute shopping, wrapping up a storm, working (out of vacation days) and preparing for my Christmas Eve Eve party! Happy week of Christmas, everyone! xo

Chad, my parents and I took a road trip to South Georgia this past weekend to visit with family. I'd been to that little town a dozen times before. It's small, barely on the map, and covered with sand in places where there should be grass. It almost feels like Florida, and even though it's not far from the border, there's something about it that's very Georgia. Maybe the smell or the cotton fields or the cracks in the pavement or the way the sun sets. This trip felt like the first time I'd been there, even though it's just been weeks since my last visit. I got to see more family than usual, which I'm thankful for. I spent more time outside, and Chad normally isn't with me. It's funny how the smallest details can make a place feel new. So here's to new experiences, or just making old ones feel like the first time. xo

I know this is a day or two late, but let's talk about the Victoria's Secret 2010 Fashion Show. I watch it every year, while my bestie and I text our favorites back and forth. It's by far the cutest fashion show out there and this year did not disappoint. About 20 minutes into the show, I found myself getting rather bored. Everything looked like leftovers from last year, and right when I was about to text that to my bff, the sporty stuff came out. Boxer shorts, a racing suit, a baseball outfit, a weight lifter bodysuit, and the best of all - a soccer ball jacket! It was super cute and fun. The show held my attention for the next 40 minutes. And even though my all time favorite angel, Adriana Lima (wearing the hot skull on her shoulder, love!), rocked my soccer-ball-jacket-loving socks off, I've got to be honest - Behati is climbing the charts. She's so funky and tomboyish. She's in the adorable rainbow (and soccer) outfit below. And she's my new girl crush. Ok, I'm going to go starve myself now. =0)

Happy day after Thanksgiving! I hope everyone stuffed their bellies like I did. I had a different holiday this year. With my parents out of town, I spent most of the day with Chad's family and then attempted to make my traditional family dinner. To go along with the Honeybaked ham my parents sent us, I attempted to make cute little portions of my mom's sweet potato casserole, stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce. I'm actually quite surprised at how close I got to the yummy original taste. Although the stuffing was a little dry, I put way too many marshmallows on the sweet potato casserole (I thought it was going to explode in the oven) and we had no turkey, it all turned out OK for our first Thanksgiving dinner just the two of us. Plus we topped it all off with a bottle of wine which fixes anything, right?

I was excited for the leftovers today, but it just didn't taste the same. Maybe there's just something about mom and dad sending you home with five huge containers full of holiday carbs. Or maybe I can't cook as well as I thought I could.

We ended the day snuggling up on the couch, watching "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." Love that movie! If you've never seen it and still appreciate awesome animated movies like you did as a kid, then go buy it right now. Don't bother renting it. "Flint you have a call. Flint you have a call." xo.

This past Sunday, Chad and my parents and I drove to Chattanooga to visit with my grandmother and her new boyfriend. And if you remember my previous post about them - yes, he totally has a shirt pocket full of pens. My mom can find a Japanese steakhouse within any 50 mile radius, so I got to stuff my face full of hibachi. Yum.

Anyway, we had the most hilarious cook-in-front-of-you hibachi chef. His name was JR (Japanese Redneck). He had a southern accent and told INS jokes the whole time he was cooking. He let Chad try the spin-the-egg-on-the-spatula trick and Chad totally rocked it. That's when he called Chad an American ninja. I loved his new nickname so much that I made him get behind the grill and do a karate pose.

I love catching the elders off guard. So cute.

What's with back lit photos in Asian restaurants? They're the perfect opportunity to pretend a giant bird is flying toward you.

Gamama's name is Jane. This is her boyfriend, Richard. We like to call them Dick and Jane. How cute is that! And he's goofy to top it off. Love it.

I'm so ready to bust out the outerwear, tights and scarves. As of now, I only get to do this about once a week. We're averaging around the mid 70s during the day here in peachy Georgia. Tank tops on Thanksgiving? No thanks. I don't enjoy watching the leaves fall to the ground while wearing flip flops. Come on, weather. You have three days to get it together. Sigh.

Last weekend I had the opportunity to do a mother-daughter shoot with my old friend, Marybeth. Little Natalie was so full of energy and smiles, I absolutely loved photographing her! Unfortunately, the rain cut our little picnic short, but I got some super cute shots. And since I've been MIA with blogging this past week, I'm going to share a bunch! Natalie brought along her tea set and a blanket - cutest mother and daughter ever! Thank you MBS and Natalie for letting me capture your little moments. xo

I don't know how I went from blogging once a day to once every three to four days. I work too much and I've been sleepy lately. Probably because it gets dark so early now. But this I had to share.

This past Tuesday, my work had a chili competition. So, of course, I entered Chad's firehouse chili. The cook-off was way more serious than I expected. There were score cards, tasting cups and even a professional chili judge. There were about 15 entries, and the whole office tasted and voted. I won by one vote! And I never win anything. I even got the professional chili judge's vote. So I was pretty psyched to say the least. And the prize? A Tasmanian devil winter hat. Haha.

Our drinking glasses never get clean on the top rack of our dishwasher. And even though our china is dishwasher safe and shatter resistant, I just feel better hand washing it. So I made a 'dish rules' sign for the kitchen, leaving Chad and I with no excuse for breaking any of the new rules. Cups go on bottom, big stuff goes on top and no china. Ok, I'm done talking about dishes. Look at my cute rules sign!

Chad and I spent this past Saturday

at an adorable wedding.

It ended with a campfire and roasting marshmallows.

It took less than a week for me to start craving them again, but we have no fireplace in our apartment. It turns out an electric stove does the trick! Just put your marshmallow on a stick. Hey, it rhymes!

Turn the burner on high.

Put some oven mits on (or burn your finger hair like I did). And hold your marshmallow a few inches above the burner, while slowly turning the stick. Your marshmallow will catch on fire if it gets too close or held still for too long. Believe me.

Then voila! Perfectly toasty marshmallow!

Chow down!

Gutter Butter update! Just a few months ago little Gutter Butter was only 0.8lb and filthy from the rough Atlanta streets. Now he's a five pound snuggly fur ball running around our apartment chasing Nona like a crazy cat. He has orange Conan hair and likes to lick fingers with his sandpapery tongue before giving little love bites. We love him!

It's been rainy in Atlanta. I heart the rain. And with Halloween just days away, it was the perfect excuse to seek shelter in the costume store. No. There are few things that I hoard, but if it's no more than three types of things then I consider it a collection or a hobby, or an interest or an infatuation. My favorite thing to hoard: books. I love shopping for them, I love buying them and I never get rid of them. Sometimes I read them twice and sometimes I like the way they look collecting dust on my bookshelf (yes, they are neatly displayed on shelves and not scattered all over the floor like a landfill of words). I even refuse to part with my old textbooks. And I love old dictionaries and unique thesauruses.

I always felt like the word thesaurus sounded like a dinosaur. A very well-versed dinosaur.

Anyway, whenever I feel sad or bored or like I've lost my creativity in a world of confusion, I grab the first book I see and flip to a random page and read whatever it says.

Tonight, the first thing I saw was Grapefruit, a book of instructional poetry by the delightfully strange, Yoko Ono.

My edition has an intro by John Lennon.

So I flip to a random page and read.

Then the world makes sense again.

My week long blogging absence was not laziness. I traveled to Baltimore, along with my closest family and friends, to see my bestest friend in the whole wide world get married. My long weekend turned into quite an oyster-eating, crab-leg-cracking, tearful-speech-giving, shot-taking, thriller-dancing, bad ass wedding adventure. Oh yea, and our two other besties got engaged. To each other. Holy three weddings in a row!!

I mentioned last week that Chad surprised me with an Oktomat lomography camera; and today I FINALLY finished a roll to develop. I love love love the pictures and can't wait to play with it some more! First, I would like to credit my mom for coining the 'Savannahversary' phrase. How cute is that. So this is my little first anniversary story...

A few days before we went on our trip, we celebrated with my parents (and Gutter Butter). Their anniversary is just two days before ours. We cooked yummy chicken tacos, drank wine and sat around the dining room table laughing and playing Loaded Questions. Helpful tip: don't play that game with people you know well. It's not very fun knowing all the answers. lol

They got us a ton of Giada stuff - sauces, pastas, spatulas. Yum!

A few days later, before we hit the road, Chad and I exchanged gifts! I got him a bunch of movies he's been wanting.

As I mentioned before, the storm of the century just happened to hit Atlanta on my wedding day. People kept telling me that it's good luck for it to rain on your day, but I bet whoever made that load up had a rainy wedding day as well. Our ceremony was moved inside, and although I was bummed out at the time, the pictures really turned out great!

Chad and I decided not to see each other before the wedding, so our pre-ceremony pictures were separate for the guys and gals. I'm sure most of you remember the infamous fall weather that covered the southeast only one year ago. That lovely deluge of a storm not only caused several no-show guests, but also forced my ceremony to be inside the hotel instead of outside on the cute terrace surrounded by skyscrapers. We were at the Four Seasons, downtown Atlanta.

Our amazing photographers tried to make the best of it. Once I confessed that I didn't care to have a wet dress for the ceremony, you could see the wheels turning inside their super creative minds. Since the chairs were already set up for an outside wedding, we thought - why not destroy them? I mean, it's not like they're getting used so we might as well get some fun pictures. haha

We ended up with really fun shots on the terrace. The gals definitely beat the boys in terms of awesomeness. Stay tuned for more wedding photos all week!! xo

It's day two of my wedding week and I am oh-so-excited to share...drum roll...the rockstar video.

About a year and a half ago, when we got our wedding party together, we realized that all of our friends didn't really know each other very well. So what's a fun way to spend the day and get to know each other a little better? Duh, make a music video!

So we spent the day acting like rockstars - like that was hard haha. Chad and I were the lead singers, obviously, and my dad makes the cameo as the bad ass, cigar smoking, bandanna-wearing dude. This video opened up our reception and was a hit to say the least. Oh, how I love acting like I'm famous. lol

Every time I watch this, the smile on my face gets bigger and bigger. We have the coolest friends ever. EVER.

PS: all the guys are firefighters, including my cute hubby. Hence the bunker gear. =0)

You might have to let it load. But I promise it is well worth it.

I had such a busy weekend that I couldn't find a moment to blog. Saturday, I was visiting my parents in Cartersville to help them with a garage sale. I imagined it to be my own little personal Renegade Craft Fair haha. I was in charge of all of my childhood toys and trinkets and stuffed animals. But in my spare time, I walked around and rummaged through all of my mom and grandma's vintage things. I actually found some cute stuff!

Let's talk about my Anthropologie obsession. You're probably thinking, oh how cute - she likes to shop at Anthro. No. It's not cute. It's EXPENSIVE. And I pretty much have zero willpower when I go in there. I would be completely content to shop nowhere else but there for the rest of my life. I often wonder how people survive in cities that don't have one. Get with it, Knoxville!!

Anyway, so I go in there for one dress. ONE DRESS. And I fall in love with three. I don't mean 'oh these are cute, I want to buy them.' I mean these dresses were MADE for my body and I need them. They were staring at me from their luxurious wooden hangers just begging to call my closet home. I honestly believe we were destined to find each other. So what did I do with my sad little writer's salary? I pondered up some excuses for why I need them. The first was obvious, Steph's rehearsal dinner. The second, I realized, I was meant to wear on my first wedding anniversary in Savannah - just 11 days away. And the last? Well, I don't think I need an excuse to wear a vintage-inspired dress with prize ribbons all over it. That one pretty much speaks for itself.

Decision time. I remembered I have an Anthro gift card at home with some leftover money on it. Get two now and come back for the oh-so-cute prize ribbon dress. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.

I must be completely out of the loop. So far out, in fact, that if the loop were I-285, I'd be in Winder (haha). Anyway, so there's this book I heard about today. And it just might be the coolest thing I've ever come across. So cool, in fact, that I went to the book store after work and bought it. Chad had dinner waiting for me and I still stopped, so you know it's good. I'm wondering how I'm just now hearing about this. It was published in 2007. Where have I been? Oh well, the point is I found it and now I get to destroy it. What is this oh-so-awesome book called, you ask? "Wreck This Journal" by the amazingly creative Keri Smith. And what do you do with this book? No, you don't read it. You don't keep a diary in it, either. YOU DESTROY IT...page by page. Why didn't I think of this?! So simple. So creative. So GENIUS! And the only instructions (in case my awesome photograph isn't exactly legible):

1. carry this with you everywhere you go.
2. follow the instructions on every page.
3. order is not important.
4. instructions are open to interpretation.
5. experiment. (work against your better judgment)

Page by page she gives you the most absurd instructions to slowly destroy this helpless paperback journal, like "rub here with dirt," "glue your pocket lint here," and "draw with glue." It is sure to spawn creativity in the most random ways and I am super excited to start destroying! And, of course, I will be sharing my journal destruction starting now. The first page says? CRACK THE SPINE! Evidence below...

On my way home from Knoxville this weekend, I stopped in Chattanooga to see my grandmother, who just recently moved into an assisted living facility. As usual, she wasn't there. She has a boyfriend who lives down the hall and they go on the group daytrips together on the community shuttle bus. I've never met him, but I hear he used to be a golfer. I imagine he wears collar shirts with pockets. He probably keeps a pen in his shirt pocket even though he never has anything to write down. You know, just in case.

As I was walking down the narrow hallway, dimly lit by large florescent lights on the ceiling, I noticed that every door was decorated. Wreaths, cross-stitched signs, plushy animals. Every door expressed the emotion of its tenant. My grandmother's door has a wreath my mom made for her, adorned with butterflies and birds and flowers. I left her a note letting her know I was there and stuck it in between the silk flowers on her wreath.

Below her wreath I noticed a doorknob hanger that says, "I'm OK." Almost every door has this same sign on their door. I guess it's to let others know you are out of your room and "OK." But it's odd to see so many little signs. I would want mine to say "I'm Awesome" or "I'm Alive!" or "I'm Out A-Wandering." Maybe I'll make my grandmother a happier sign. Because when you're that old, you shouldn't just be OK. You should be living life to its fullest!

So I know there's no excuse to go four days without blogging. {Shame on me.} But I have a pretty good reason. I had to road trip it to Knoxvegas for a long weekend to celebrate my BFFs bachelorette party. And to ensure Steph had 100% of my partying attention, I left my laptop at home. How awesome am I?

I found moments in between our bachelorette craziness to take some pictures...juuuuuust in case the bride-to-be forgot anything worth remembering. haha. xo

Scrappy (adj): a person who is rough around the edges, not afraid to get dirty, do something they're afraid of or do any activity that causes their heart rate to go up.

Chad and I head out first thing in the morning to pick up our niece and nephew, then off to the woods at Lake Hartwell for a long weekend of camping with Marino, BillieJo and their kiddos. Last time I went camping it was 1991, and I was wearing mismatched EG socks with baggy tee shirts tied off to the side with wave bangs. In other words, I had no idea what to pack. So I packed what I felt would get me through a blistering hot weekend in the woods: my journal, my favorite book, a fun scarf, sundresses, flip flops and other "scrappy" attire. Oh, and my cat. haha, just kidding. Nona Bug is way too spoiled to survive the wilderness.

Supposedly our campground has wifi (really roughing it), so I'm planning to be blogging my camping experiences each day of our trip. Will I survive the scrappy woods of Lake Hartwell? Stay tuned.

I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't know what is wrong with this day. Maybe my weekend went by too fast, maybe I ate too much junk food the past couple days or maybe it's just your classic Monday, but I'm ready to go home, get snuggly and let the day end. But before I do that, I must finish my workday. So what do I do to get out of this funk and into a better mood? Eat lunch on the roof, do some cartwheels and fly away into the Atlanta skyline. My friend/coworker/break dancer/awesome photographer, Tammy, and I spent lunchtime on the rooftop. Our coworker, Laura, also joined in on our shenanigans. And lucky for us, our work has amazing roof space – just perfect for cartwheels. I hope our pictures inspire you to have a very happy Monday! xo

Everyone, meet Gutter. The .8lb kitten Chad found in the storm drain at the corner of Cheshire Bridge and the I-85N on-ramp. Over a week ago he was malnourished, scared and covered in fleas. Now he's fattened up, running around like he owns the place and squeaky clean! Now I know why all the shelters were full...we were meant to keep you, Gutter Butter!

This past Saturday was Stephanie's bridal shower, hosted by myself and her sister, also a Meg. Just so we don't get confused, I'll be Meg1 and she can be Meg2. So Meg2's boyfriend, a caterer, made the most amazing spread of finger foods I've ever seen. We had beef wellington pastries, chicken-stuffed cucumbers, tomato and artichoke bruschetta, tortellini and artichoke pasta salad, spinach dip with heart-shaped pumpernickel dippers, mini heart-shaped chicken salad sandwiches and red-sprinkled vanilla cupcakes. I handmade all of the decorations – hanging poms, a 'happy shower' banner, prize bags and yarn-wrapped favor boxes! We played 'How Well Do You Know the Bride?,' 'Toilet Paper Wedding Dress,' and 'Scoop the Cotton Balls!' We had an awesome time, Steph got some great gifts and she even hung my poms in her house! Happy Shower, Stephy!

After the shower, Steph got super excited and danced in her new kitchen as she put her new gifts away. Haha

This is part two of last week's spontaneousness. Chad and I thought it would be fun to spend the weekend in Nashville, see some bands and visit with his family. After visiting with Starr and Terry, we headed downtown with Justin and Fallon, got an awesome suite right off Broadway and hit the strip with every intention of hitting each club one drink at a time. By 3am we only hit six clubs, but along the way we ran into my dad (crazy!), we saw some amazing bands, danced our butts off and spent time with family we never get to see. I heart you, Nashville.

Last Wednesday, Chad bought tickets to Tom Petty an hour before the concert started. We got club seats for half price since it was so last minute which, in Philips Arena, means a good view and good food. If you know me then you know my obsession with Tom Petty. This was our fifth time seeing him and it rocked. Crosby, Stills & Nash opened. The guy next to us saw them at Woodstock when he was 16 years old, how cool is that. Oh, I was born about 30 years too late.

veryone is wondering, I'm sure, how my too-short vacation went. You know how in The Sweetest Thing, with Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate, you have two crazy girls with nonstop inside jokes, conversations with no boundaries, dancing (in the club and on the street) and endless rounds of cocktails? Add one more crazy girl and that's us. We're the girls who refuse to pose for a serious picture. We're the girls who refuse to pay $170 for a beach excursion when a $4 cab ride takes us to the same place. We're the girls who down three mojitos and take one for the road. We're the girls who don't want to meet your girlfriend. We're the girls who would rather burn than pay 20 bucks for sunscreen. We're the girls who are completely infatuated by things that change color in the sunlight. We're the girls who turn the top deck into a fashion photo shoot. These are the days of our lives...and there's always time for a movie montage.

o I should probably tell you that from now on, I will be choosing the first word of my blog post based on Jessica Hische's daily drop cap. Her typography skills rock my socks off and I'm addicted. As you can see, today's 's' is quite spectacular. In exactly 38 hours, I will be on a plane with my two besties headed to Miami for a "girls - only, Stef - is - getting - married, I - need - a - vacation - and - I - may - never - come - home" cruise trip to the Bahamas! That might mean no blogging until next Tuesday, but it also means four days and three nights of sun bathing, club dancing and alcoholic beverages. Last weekend my mom gave me a new sewing box full of vintage supplies that have been passed down for generations. Everything has been so well preserved with needles and thumb tacks still in their old boxes, thread wound around wooden spools, and buttons and beads all neatly separated. I can't wait to learn how to sew, so I can start making cute clothes and bags and accessories with mismatched buttons and vintage thread!

My dad surprised me with an Instax mini (tiny polaroids) and they are the cutest/funnest pictures ever! Check out my sewing pics and some of my mini polaroids! xo

Nona fetches. How weird is that. I think it's pretty smart for a cat to know that in order to chase the stringy, it needs to move. And in order for the stringy to move, a human needs to hold it. So she brings it to us...at all hours of the day (and night). Usually when we're trying to eat dinner, watching our favorite TV shows or sleeping. I often wake up to the stringy being dropped on my face and Nona standing on my chest. In case you don't believe me I caught it on camera:

How is it that after traveling the world, from Greece to Maui, Knoxville is still one of my favorite places? I say it's just as much about the people you're with than the city you're in. Chad asked me while walking around in the old city, "If you could be anywhere right now, where would it be?"

I answered, "I think I'm there."

Standing next to the old Tennessee Theater in the blistering Fourth of July heat, with my best friend ever, Stephanie, is exactly where I wanted to be. We see each other every other month if we're lucky. But then Chad clarified, "If you could be anywhere in the world with STEPHANIE, DUNCAN AND MYSELF, where would it be?" I laughed and pondered for a minute.

"Amsterdam."

I've never been there before. I prefer traveling to new places. But Knoxville is a place that I will never be tired of visiting. It holds so many memories for me, and every time I'm there I create new ones. This trip's memories include, but are not limited to: quite possibly the best sushi I've ever had in my entire life, hilarious drinking games that made us laugh so hard we cried, Fourth of July parfaits, our own personal fireworks show, Eclipse movie mania, and a windy photo session in the car!

Let me tell you why I love concerts. Or more importantly, why I love standing in a concert crowd, five feet from the stage, shoulder to shoulder with people I've never met before. For some reason, you stand there with no inhibitions. It's like driving a car, only you don't have a windshield between yourself and the people trying to cut in front of you. But that doesn't stop you from speaking your mind and/or pushing everyone around you. Because 1.) they can barely hear you; and 2.) you'll never see these people again. Oh and 3.) you might be slightly inebriated.

You always make friends with the people around you. You find out that the last time the lady next to you saw Hole live, you were in the fourth grade. How the guy standing to your right thinks it's not her singing that makes her great, but her lack of concern for the audience's opinion of her. And how the weirdo behind you just might be Courtney's stalker.

So I'm standing in the Tabernacle. It's about 120 degrees and I'm a few feet from the stage surrounded by my new found friends. I stare at Courtney Love, wondering why in a world of people who think she's ridiculous, I'm so in awe of her. I've been enamored by her for a good part of my life. Not because she was Cobain's wife. Not because she makes headlines with her drug-enhanced antics. But because she's a poet. Somewhere inside that crazy, tangle-haired, wide-eyed girl behind the guitar is a writer that truly speaks to my soul. I stand there happy to know that the other hundred people that surround me in front of the stage feel the same way (especially stalker-guy behind me). And as she lifts that iconic leather-booted leg out from under her dress and onto the stage-front speaker, my hands go in the air and I sing along to my favorite song.

Yesterday, I had the sudden urge to fly somewhere I've never been. So I left work, and drove to Knoxville. If you know me then you know I've been to Knoxville. I was just picking up my bestie, because no one wants to travel alone. Stef and I drove to the airport and bought two round trip tickets to ICELAND. I know what you're thinking - that I had to work today and Iceland is on the other side of the world. But no worries. This is my daydream and I can make anything happen. When we arrived, we were surprised to find no ice at all. But instead beautiful green landscapes just begging to be discovered. After many fun-filled hours of Iceland adventures, we made it home just in time for work this morning. Must be why I'm so exhausted. Check out our pictures to see our amazing 'daycation'...

1. I was eight years old when my parents made me sleep in the tub during Hurricane Andrew. All I wanted to do was look out the window, but they wouldn't let me for fear of something outside breaking through from the crazy wind. I've loved storms ever since. Someday, I want to ride along with storm trackers in the Midwest and hunt tornadoes. You can actually PAY to chase tornadoes. How cool is that.

2. I often crave being at a concert, standing in a sea of people. It's the only place in the world where I enjoy a crowd. And I've never met a crowd I can't push through.

3. I hope to finish a novel someday. Not just to be published, but just so I can say I finished something extraordinary. Sometimes I go to the bookstore, stare at the literature section and wonder what name I would publish under. If I were Kirsic, I would live next to Kerouac. But if I were Bird, I would live next to Austen. How amazing to be on the same shelf, next to those who have lived there for so long.

4. There is no better feeling in the world to me than when the captain turns off the fasten seatbelt sign.

5. I forever choose film over digital. There's just something about an actual film image that makes my heart skip a beat. Check out my new Diana F+ camera that I bought myself (happy Friday, Meg)!! I can now shoot with 120 film, and I even have a 35mm film adapter. Stay tuned for some oh-so-sweet pics!!

Two of my best friends became official on Facebook recently, and we all know that it's real when you update your relationship status for the world to see. I don't want to brag, but it quite possibly could have happened because of my meddling. They might deny it, but I meddled. Just like Monica meddled. And what came from that? Oh, Phoebe and Mike got married. Now I don't want to jinx anything, but I can already smell the Hawaiian flowers, the five star resort and the mai tais. Hello beach wedding. Stef (my fellow meddler) and I have been saying it since day one, it's gonna happen. So grab your flip flops and grass skirts, folks. The next stop is Maui!

As some of you may know, I'm kind of obsessed with chicken tacos. So much so, that my lovely husband has allowed me to dedicate an entire day to them. That means I get to enjoy delicious, home made chicken tacos every Tuesday for the rest of my life! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Chad's parents came to visit tonight, so we dined out - and lucky me, chicken tacos were on the menu! For those of you in Atlanta, you must try Pancho's on Buford Hwy for some yummy Latin cuisine. If not for the monster margaritas, check it out for the cute patio that looks like a Mexican beer garden.

After dinner, Sharon and Hank took us down the street to show us the high school where they met. I thought it would be fun to take a picture of them reenacting a break up they had in front of one of the school doors. Good times!

While sitting on the old wooden bench inside the scrumptious Osteria del Figo yesterday afternoon, patiently waiting for my 6-cheese ravioli with Tuscan Pomodoro sauce to-go, I couldn't help but notice all the pretty women walking in and out of the double glass doors. They were all so fabulous, wearing cute corporate outfits with a Blackberry in one hand and a designer handbag in the other. I wondered what each of them did for a living. I imagined some of them escaped a cubicle jungle at an investment firm for an hour of fresh air and Italian lunch. Others were publishers from a trendy magazine taking a break to discuss the next issue. And as I sat there in my skinny jeans, flats and t-shirt, it made me happy to have a creative job.

Due to my uncontrollable daydreaming, I hadn't noticed the tall woman standing next to me. And as I gazed up, I was surprised to find her looking at me. Like most normal people would do, I smiled politely and looked at the bar wondering why my to-go order was taking so long. 

That's when she nudged me and asked, "Is that the weather lady?" She pointed with her eyes to one of the fabulous women wearing a hot pink cardigan along with plenty of make-up. "I don't really watch local news," I confessed. "But she does look familiar." 

I smiled. This talkative stranger was an older woman with a northern accent, and I learned she worked in the admin office at Morehouse College. While she was debating whether the lady in pink was from 11Alive News or Fox5 News, she described herself as crazy and that she recognizes random people all the time. Although she never remembers how she knows them.

After we said our goodbyes and nice-to-meet-yous, I realized this crazy lady made my day. We don't talk to each other enough. We go about our lives, our daily routines, smiling politely as we ignore each person we come in contact with. I want to connect with people more, interact more. Just tell someone to have a nice day or simply say what's on your mind. You may be the crazy person for talking to people you don't know, but at least you're out there connecting with the world, leaving a legacy. Even if it's only one person at a time.

So my lunch break was an experience, I realized it's OK to be a little crazy sometimes. And as for my 6-cheese ravioli with Tuscan Pomodoro sauce, it was delicious.

I am so incredibly behind on blogging! These pictures are from last month at Mickie D's where my niece celebrated her 4th birthday party, but I had to share. Chad and I met Sean Hannity at his book signing for Conservative Victory. And just as I had imagined, he was the nicest guy ever. Even though there were over a thousand people in line, he made conversation with each person, asking them what they do for a living, where they're from, what school they go to. He asked us if we were married, and then gave me a high five for being a newlywed! Unfortunately, you couldn't use your camera while he signed your book - since it would take all night to pose for a thousand pictures. But since we were aloud to take pictures from the side, I have a couple of awesome shots of him meeting random people I don't know! Oh, and please excuse the amazing pictures from the disposable camera.

What do you do in Atlanta on a Saturday night when your best friend comes to town, but payday isn't until next Wednesday? Most would suggest staying in and watching a movie. But Stef and I got bored with that too. So we decided to head over to the Dump, the new furniture store in town, and take polaroids jumping on all the furniture. And we were right. We weren't bored anymore. And for my fellow Atlantans, this "Dump" sells $10,000 couches. Too expensive for me, but fun to jump on!!
