rooftop lunch with a side of cartwheels.

I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't know what is wrong with this day. Maybe my weekend went by too fast, maybe I ate too much junk food the past couple days or maybe it's just your classic Monday, but I'm ready to go home, get snuggly and let the day end. But before I do that, I must finish my workday. So what do I do to get out of this funk and into a better mood? Eat lunch on the roof, do some cartwheels and fly away into the Atlanta skyline. My friend/coworker/break dancer/awesome photographer, Tammy, and I spent lunchtime on the rooftop. Our coworker, Laura, also joined in on our shenanigans. And lucky for us, our work has amazing roof space – just perfect for cartwheels. I hope our pictures inspire you to have a very happy Monday! xo

oh what a beautiful weekend.

Hope you had a great weekend. Here are some things that made me smile during my two days off. xo

Jumping like kids in the moonwalk.

My nephew, who always seems to be in the air.

My first corn dog since elementary school.

Eli and his cute smiles and 70s hair.

Colorful piƱatas.

And my super cute niece and nephews!

when you're fresh out of sticky.

What do you do when you have a ton of birthday presents to wrap and no tape? Use yarn and tissue paper! It's cute and efficient. xo

always. sometimes. never.

So I'm totally stealing this from a blog I follow. But I thought it'd be fun. Comment with your own personal 'always. sometimes. never.' And have a sun-filled, bikini-wearing, moonwalk-jumping, cupcake-eating weekend. Happy Friday! xo

I Always:
  • write down things I hear if it's funny or inspiring.
  • drink chocolate milk through a straw, it just tastes better.
  • listen to extremely loud music.
  • wear too much sunscreen, at least 50 spf.
I sometimes:
  • arrive to work about 15 minutes late.
  • wear scarves in the summertime, because I get tired of waiting for winter.
  • recycle. i know, I'm trying harder.
  • backseat drive, Chad loves that about me.
 I never:
  • put ketchup on my hot dog, only mustard.
  • eat at restaurants attached to gas stations.
  • put lemon in my sweet tea. gross.
  • stay calm during a plane ride. But I also never let that keep me from traveling. =0)

there once was a kitten named gutter.

Everyone, meet Gutter. The .8lb kitten Chad found in the storm drain at the corner of Cheshire Bridge and the I-85N on-ramp. Over a week ago he was malnourished, scared and covered in fleas. Now he's fattened up, running around like he owns the place and squeaky clean! Now I know why all the shelters were full...we were meant to keep you, Gutter Butter!

working hard wednesday.

I doodle a lot. Especially at work. It's easy to get sidetracked in Illustrator and start drawing pink seahorses. I want to start sharing these every week, the randomness in my head. Today it was mostly cute sea creatures and one pink fawn. I heart cute whales. Happy Wednesday!!

forecast calls for a shower.

This past Saturday was Stephanie's bridal shower, hosted by myself and her sister, also a Meg. Just so we don't get confused, I'll be Meg1 and she can be Meg2. So Meg2's boyfriend, a caterer, made the most amazing spread of finger foods I've ever seen. We had beef wellington pastries, chicken-stuffed cucumbers, tomato and artichoke bruschetta, tortellini and artichoke pasta salad, spinach dip with heart-shaped pumpernickel dippers, mini heart-shaped chicken salad sandwiches and red-sprinkled vanilla cupcakes. I handmade all of the decorations – hanging poms, a 'happy shower' banner, prize bags and yarn-wrapped favor boxes! We played 'How Well Do You Know the Bride?,' 'Toilet Paper Wedding Dress,' and 'Scoop the Cotton Balls!' We had an awesome time, Steph got some great gifts and she even hung my poms in her house! Happy Shower, Stephy!

After the shower, Steph got super excited and danced in her new kitchen as she put her new gifts away. Haha

the end.
